However, my internet's being a bit fuzzy today and there was an update/patch for the game that I needed to download, problem is, it stopped at 26%, said there was an error downloading and got the error code 80710723 (I think).
I am usually always signed into my PSN/SEN account even if I'm not playing a game online, but if I just switched off my router and tried playing the game again, would it let me?
downloading any game patch will just freeze the screen, like the startup screen...
i tried formatting the harddrive via ps3 system, it didnt continue...frozen..

Just wondering because there's a FPS game I brought recently and I wanted to play it today.
Here's how you can install the 1.7.5 system update using a USB memory stick and your PC.
There is an exploit which will enable you to play new PS3 games without updating your system firmware.
This is preferable because if you are on cfw or ofw 3.55 and you want to jailbreak your PS3, but you buy a new game which requires updating.
Often if it develops a flaw you can return to an earlier save after giving the game a little rest.
Also i believe some patches can be done via pc but don't quote meon that.
